Law and Diplomacy

The Law and Diplomacy major offers an innovative interdisciplinary program designed to prepare students who may be considering pursuing law school or entering careers in fields such as international relations, public policy, and global governance.

 The program combines a wide variety of rigorous course options that cover subjects including economics, foreign languages and international relations as well as applied law in business, technology, health, gaming, sports and entertainment.

Over the course of their undergraduate experience, students will have opportunities in the classroom, at campus-based research centers and through professional internships and immersive study seminars, to develop highly sought after skills that can be applied to internationally-focused careers. Students are invited to apply their diverse academic interests and passions as they  develop a deeper understanding of the world in the classroom and beyond.

Curriculum

At the School of Diplomacy and International Relations, we offer courses in Washington, D.C., at the United Nations, and on our suburban New Jersey campus — just 14 miles from New York City. Students have the opportunity to not just study — but actually practice -diplomacy and international relations.

Courses and classroom discussions are enriched by our diverse student body, interactions with visiting international leaders and by real-world, practical perspectives from our distinguished faculty.

The courses in the Law and Diplomacy major allow students to deepen their understanding of the complex challenges facing our world by examining a range of topics including:
