From health and science to retail and finance, big data is driving and changing every
aspect of our world today — especially in business. Advanced technology now allows
companies to gather and store massive amounts of data more easily than ever before.
But businesses are all facing the same dilemma: how to harness that data once they
have it.
All over the globe, companies are searching for leaders who can use data to solve
problems strategically and make effective business decisions. Our STEM-designated
M.S. in Business Analytics program prepares you to do exactly that. Offering equally
solid foundations in both business processes and data analytics, the program develops
managers and executives whose skills are in high demand. Graduates are as comfortable
communicating with managers as they are with quantitative analysts.
We welcome both full and part-time students and our small and flexible classes to
accommodate your schedule — both online and on our main campus in South Orange, NJ,
only 14 miles away from New York City.
"The M.S. in Business Analytics is designed for students seeking new ways to use data
in their businesses, developing skills in understanding, presenting, and analyzing
data."

Admissions Requirements
Admission into the Stillman School of Business is selective. For consideration, applicants
must hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university. The School
welcomes applicants from business and non-business undergraduate majors. Although
all requests will be considered based on individual merit and each candidate will
be evaluated holistically, an undergraduate overall GPA of 3.0 or higher (on a 4.0
scale) is generally required.
Applications are processed on a rolling basis. To be considered for competitive merit
scholarships or Graduate Assistantship positions, applicants are encouraged to apply
by the priority deadline for each semester.
International Students Welcome!
Seton Hall welcomes applications from international students for admission into full-time
graduate degree programs.
Offered in a hybrid format, our 30-credit program — composed of 21 credit hours of
required courses and 9 credit hours of approved IT or Quantitative Analysis electives
— balances courses in business processes with courses in exploratory and predictive
analytics. Ten three-credit courses cover everything you need to know, from using
R/Python, JSON/XML and SQL, to examining business processes through their data models,
to extracting meaning from big, unstructured data.
Course topics include exploratory data analysis, machine learning, databases and SQL,
predictive analytics, and big data analytics. Our curriculum emphasizes intuitive
understanding of concepts over deep theory with a hands-on applied focus which enables
graduates to hit the ground running. The MSBA program culminates with a semester-long
capstone project that places you on a two-person team to tackle real problems using
everything you’ve learned throughout the program.
"Transforming concepts into practice” is a cornerstone of the program. This means
a focus on applied learning by our faculty and in our many Centers.
