The online Master of Science in Nursing, Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (P.M.H.N.P.) program prepares you to assess, diagnose and treat individuals and families with psychiatric disorders as their primary provider throughout their lifespan.
In our online program, you'll learn more than just tactical diagnostic and treatment skillsets. You'll understand how to build key relationships that can further your efforts, communicate effectively and successfully solve problems. You’ll study how to treat and diagnose simple and complex issues while you master how to use research to develop, assess and refine educational materials to better treat and educate clients and communities.

Admissions Requirements
For recent B.S.N. graduates, acceptance will be granted post NCLEX passing by August 15 of the year admitted to the program; proof of one year full-time (direct patient care) employment is required prior to the start of practicum courses (year 2).

Curriculum Overview
By completing the 49-credit program in the online curriculum for the M.S.N. in P.M.H.N.P. degree, you'll learn how to diagnose and treat simple and complex psychiatric and mental health problems ranging from adjustment disorders to serious mental illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar illnesses and major depression.
Students in the Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner track complete a minimum of 600 clinical hours. You'll graduate prepared for licensure to practice as a nurse practitioner* and ready to sit for the American Nurses Credentialing Center's (ANCC) Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing board certification and be committed to lifelong learning, service and leadership for the greater good of the global society.

Most students complete the P.M.H.N.P. program in 3-4 years.
Are there set times to attend my classes?
Not for the online course work. You will have specific assignment deadlines and test dates, but you can complete your online coursework at times that are convenient for you. Immersion experiences have a separate schedule.
Is the program accredited?
Yes. The P.M.H.N.P. program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
