Merry Christmas from Seton Hall University
Christmas Message from the President
Dear Seton Hall Family,
This month, we have journeyed together through Advent (from “ad-venire” in Latin, or “to come to”) and have nearly reached the hope-filled season of Christmas.
In the birth of Christ, we find the hope of humanity made manifest in one Person. We believe that through Him, we have the opportunity for eternal life with God, our loved ones who have gone before us, and the communion of saints.
Secure in this knowledge, we live a different kind of life, one that sets our thoughts, actions and everything we experience in the context of God’s abiding love for the human family.
Our timeline shifts from finite to infinite. And with that, our perspective on the world — in all its goodness, need and iniquity — grows more understanding and appreciative. We advance in resilience knowing life’s difficulties are temporary. And we embrace joy knowing the promise of God is unbroken and eternal.
All because of the hope that was born in a manger more than two millennia ago.
May this be a time of renewed hope, joy and peace in your lives, as you celebrate the miracle of the season. It is my hope that God multiplies His blessings for you and your families, and that He continues to guide Seton Hall with His loving presence always.
Yours truly in the Lord Jesus,
Monsignor Reilly
