Seton Hall Esports is proud to announce the continuation of its partnership with global esports and gaming organization Gen.G through participation in the Gen.G Practicum Abroad Program. This intensive, three-week program offers students the opportunity to study in the heart of the esports industry in Seoul, South Korea.

Building on the success of last year’s collaboration, Seton Hall will once again take part in the Gen.G Practicum Abroad Program in 2026, continuing its role as one of only 13 institutions nationwide selected for this immersive learning experience. The program underscores Seton Hall’s growing reputation in esports, education and global engagement, and places the University alongside other leading institutions recognized for their innovation in esports, technology and student success.

“This is our most ambitious program since the launch of our Gen.G Practicum Abroad program, bringing together some of the best universities in the country to expand their educational programs on campus,” said Arnold Hur, CEO of Gen.G. “The students will be fully immersed in Korea with hands-on experiences to give them a 360-degree view of the esports industry.”

Gen.G professionals lead the Practicum Abroad experience, which includes custom esports programming, mentorship sessions, industry “lunch-and-learns” and professional networking opportunities, all while immersing students in Korean culture and its history in esports. Through the practicum, students gain firsthand experience in one of the world’s most influential esports markets, developing skills in international collaboration, business operations and cultural exchange. Participants engage in specialized coursework, work directly with industry professionals and visit competitive organizations and gaming publisher studios, connecting classroom theory to real-world practice in a rapidly evolving global field.

“From a university perspective, we are very big on turning concepts into practice and there’s nothing quite as practical as going to the heart of the esports world and working on real initiatives with one of the most innovative organizations in esports,” said Victor Gomez, M.B.A., esports manager at Seton Hall.

Student Perspectives and Career Growth

Students described the practicum as an eye-opening and transformative experience that helped them explore career paths in esports, media and global business.

“Working with Gen.G was such a formative experience, especially as someone preparing to graduate. It provided an incredible hands-on opportunity to discover my interests in a completely new field and potential career path. The close mentorship created a genuine professional environment that helped bridge the gap between the classroom and the workplace,” shared one participating student.

Seton Hall’s participation in the program reinforces its commitment to innovation, student engagement and experiential learning within the esports field. The partnership with Gen.G, offered at no financial cost to the university, highlights the value of academic-industry collaboration and Seton Hall’s proactive role in building bridges between education, technology and global culture.

“We’re thrilled to see universities like Seton Hall investing in the next generation of esports and gaming professionals,” Hur added. “Programs like this show how education and industry can come together to build meaningful pathways for students worldwide.”
