Seton Hall Experts Shape National Headlines in February
Friday, March 13, 2026
Seton Hall University continued its strong start to 2026 with another impactful month
of media presence, with multiple faculty experts featured across top national, regional
and broadcast outlets. The University’s position as a trusted, go-to source for timely,
expert commentary was underscored by reach in the millions — all in thanks to the
incredible faculty who provided analysis on topics from the intricacies of regional
elections and the shifting landscape of sports law to critical analysis of Supreme
Court rulings and the pulse of the 2026 Winter Olympics.
The Seton Hall Sports Poll, led by methodologist and associate professor of marketing Dan Ladik, dominated sports business headlines this month, providing invaluable insights into major sporting events across the globe. An early February poll regarding Super Bowl LXI fan favorites and traditions was featured in a premier ESPN report, with additional coverage in outlets such as PennLive and The Sporting News. Additionally, the Poll’s data defining American interest in the 2026 Winter Olympics — specifically the popularity of snowboarding and figure skating — was cited by ArchyNewsy, highlighting Seton Hall as a premier source for high-level industry insights used by global media.
Additional sports commentary came from sports law professor and practitioner Robert “Bob” Boland, whose expertise about the evolving strategy of collegiate eligibility litigation was prominently featured in Front Office Sports early in the month. Boland also provided analysis for Newsweek regarding MSG Sports’ potential restructuring of the Knicks and Rangers, showcasing Seton Hall as an authoritative source for complex, high-stakes sports business and legal analysis.
The Stillman School of Business saw significant representation in national personal finance outlets throughout the month. Xiaoqing Eleanor Xu (“Best Credit Cards for Bad Credit”), Elvin Riley (“What Is a Budget?”) and Benjamin Lowe (“Best Business Credit Cards for New Businesses”) all provided actionable advice for WalletHub, highlighting the University as a premier authority in financial technology, consumer empowerment and small business strategy.
Several professors also spoke with New Jersey outlets regarding local and national politics, from immigration cases to federal tariffs. Seton Hall Law professor Lori Nessel contributed to a high-profile report on NJ.com regarding immigration cases and court orders while underscoring the University’s commitment to real-world advocacy at the forefront of national legal crises. In early February, political science professor Matt Hale provided real-time analysis for Fox 5 New York’s Live NJ-11 special election Democratic primary results and analyzed regional political influence in The Hill, reinforcing his reputation as one of New Jersey’s top political experts. Meanwhile, associate professor of economics Danielle Zanzalari provided key insight on a major U.S. Supreme Court ruling regarding federal tariff programs, highlighting the University’s high-level expertise on the intersection of federal policy and business impact.
“The Supreme Court’s decision reinforces that trade policy ultimately rests with Congress,” Zanzalari told ROI-NJ. “The tariffs did more harm than good in the short run, since input costs rose for manufacturers and many other firms.”
Lastly, Chief Information Officer Paul Fisher was profiled by Ellucian for his mission-driven innovation at Seton Hall, where he shared about establishing high institutional credibility through strategic digital transformation.
"We don't innovate for innovation's sake," Fisher told the outlet. "We pilot, experiment, and scale what works — across disciplines, across departments. Everything comes back to the mission of teaching and learning."
By providing real-time commentary and data-driven insights to major media outlets, University experts continue to demonstrate the real-world impact of their exceptional research and expertise, reinforcing Seton Hall’s reputation as a premier authority across diverse disciplines.
