Get Involved With Campus Ministry

campus ministryCampus Ministry at Seton Hall University offers a wide range of activities and programs designed to help students connect, grow spiritually and become actively involved in the community. Whether you are looking to join a fun event, participate in a meaningful retreat, or find a quiet space for reflection, there is something for everyone. Here is a closer look at what Campus Ministry has in store for the upcoming semester.

Engage in Fun and Fellowship

For those looking to make new friends and enjoy some entertainment, the CONNECT event will take place at 6 p.m., Sunday, September 8, in the University Center. Enjoy free food, live music, and great company. Following the event, students are invited to join the Student Mass at 8 p.m.

Reflect and Remember

In remembrance of the September 11 attacks, Campus Ministry will host a 9/11 Memorial Mass on September 8 at 8 p.m. in the University Chapel. This solemn event will be followed by a candlelit procession to the September 11 Memorial located in The Harbor at Boland Hall, where a brief prayer service will be held, and the names of the Seton Hall community members lost that day will be read.

For a more personal and quiet time of reflection, Moonlight Mercy returns every Wednesday night from 9-10 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Chapel. This hour of music, prayer, confessions, adoration and quiet time is open to all who need a moment to unwind.

Retreat for Renewal

This 25-hour overnight retreat provides an excellent opportunity for new students to build friendships, hear personal stories about the college experience, and relax off-campus. Transportation is provided, and all freshmen, regardless of their faith background, are welcome to attend. Spots are limited, so be sure to sign up here to secure your place.

Participate in Spiritual Growth and Worship

A unique tradition at Seton Hall is the Room Blessings offered throughout September. Students can sign up to have their dorm room blessed by a University Priest, bringing joy, love and peace to their living space. Room blessings are open to everyone, regardless of religious affiliation. To participate, simply sign up for your dorm building on the designated date:

For more details, students can speak with their Resident Assistant (RA) or Campus Ministry.

Serve and Volunteer

Students interested in becoming more involved in Mass can participate in the Liturgical Minister Training from 7-8 p.m., Wednesday, September 11, at Immaculate Conception Chapel. Positions are available for Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, and Altar Servers, providing a great way to earn service hours while contributing to the Seton Hall community. If you are unable to attend this session but would like to volunteer, please contact Kennedy Dierks to arrange an alternative training time.

Visit The Harbor

Campus Ministry’s newly renovated space, now called The Harbor, is a welcoming spot for all students. Located in Boland Hall, The Harbor is open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and offers free coffee, snacks, a kitchenette, games and comfortable seating areas.
