Content Creation Studios Amplify Voices and Transform Storytelling
Wednesday, May 6, 2026
Since opening earlier this semester, Seton Hall’s Content Creation Studios, located in the Innovation Hub within the Teaching, Learning and Technology Center (TLTC), have quickly become a dynamic resource supporting teaching, storytelling and media production at scale. The studios include the Podcast Studio, One-Button Studio, Lightboard Studio and Production Studio, offering flexible environments that support everything from quick self-service recordings to full-scale video production.
Digital Media working in the Production Studio
In just over two months of operation, the studios have supported more than 100 bookings from more than 60 unique users, demonstrating strong early adoption among faculty, staff and students. A 32 percent repeat usage rate reflects continued engagement as the campus community integrates the studios into academic and creative work.
This momentum is reflected in more than 115 hours of recorded studio time, with strong demand for the Podcast Studio, which accounts for more than half of all bookings. The public booking system has made it easier to reserve space and helped expand use across a wide range of projects, including class assignments, podcasts and event-based video production.
From Coursework to Campus Storytelling
Faculty have been among the earliest adopters, integrating the studios directly into coursework. In one example, Irina Kazakevich, Ph.D., a faculty member in the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures, brought entire classes in to use the One-Button Studio, where students recorded Russian language presentations as part of a course assignment demonstrating their proficiency. The ease of use allowed dozens of students across two classes to complete recordings efficiently during two scheduled sessions.
"The first experience with using the Innovation Hub capabilities went very well for the Russian Program. Two classes participated in live recordings in the One-Button Studio. The students came well prepared and were very excited to use this new tool available for them to practice their speaking skills. The technical support provided by TLTC experts was excellent and timing for releasing the files with recordings was exceptional! The Russian Program is planning to integrate the Innovation Hub into course work again in the future"

Student media organizations and campus programs are also using the studios to expand storytelling efforts. SHU TV has produced multiple episodes of its Campus Nightly program in the Innovation Hub, demonstrating how the space supports both academic and co-curricular media initiatives.
The Blue and Beyond podcast, produced by Peer Advisors from the Center for Academic Success, has established a recurring production workflow. The team regularly records and publishes episodes highlighting student experiences and campus perspectives.
Supporting Signature University Projects
Beyond instructional use and podcasting, the Production Studio supports high-impact university storytelling. These projects demonstrate the studios’ ability to support polished, high-level productions alongside everyday academic use.
Recent projects include:
- DOVE Student Servant Leader Awards videos celebrating student leadership across campus
- The Petersheim 30th anniversary video commemorating a milestone for the University community
- A growing collection of student and staff interviews and testimonials supporting coursework and internal communications
Looking Ahead
The Innovation Hub will remain open throughout the summer with adjusted hours, providing continued access for faculty, staff and students working on projects and preparing content for the upcoming academic year.
