Agape Latte at Seton Hall
Agape (ἀγάπη) is a Greek word and is best defined as unconditional and sacrificial love. While latte is Italian for milk, it most commonly refers to the popular coffeehouse drink, typically made with espresso and both steamed and frothed milk. Combining the two gives us the name for our monthly student-faculty coffeehouse.
The idea is simple – provide a relaxed, comfortable space on campus where faculty and students can share stories of faith, of God’s unconditional loving action in their lives. Plus, free coffee! Each month Agape Latte students invite a guest to share their story and engage students in discussion. The evening begins with an “opening act” of music, poetry, trivia, or other games. Students can also enjoy free giveaways and desserts.
The student-led program allows diverse members of the campus community to come together to listen to one another and participate in a community of encounter and dialogue. Students plan the evenings, perform music, facilitate trivia, invite professors to be storytellers, and encourage their friends to attend.

College is a learning experience, not just for your mind, but for the heart and spirit.
