New Microsoft Surface Hubs in Walsh Library Study Rooms

Seton Hall University's Walsh Library has undergone a recent technological upgrade with the installation of Microsoft Surface Hub 2S devices in 25 group study rooms on the third and fourth floors. The Surface Hub 2S, boasting a 50-inch wall-mounted display, offers an immersive interactive experience with:

  • Enhanced Collaboration: Equipped with Microsoft Teams integration, the device facilitates engagement and collaboration for both in-person and remote participants.
  • Improved Inclusivity: With features like the 4K web camera, meetings become more inclusive, ensuring all participants are seen and heard clearly regardless of their location within the room.
  • Real-Time Co-Creation: Users can collectively work on documents using native Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the ability to save their progress directly to OneDrive.
  • Versatile Connectivity: Surface Hub 2S supports various connectivity options, including HDMI, USB, and USB-C ports, enabling seamless integration with personal devices and a smooth user experience.

Adobe Creative Campus

Did you know that Seton Hall is an Adobe Creative Campus? The first of its kind in New Jersey, this partnership allows members of the University community access to the Adobe Creative Cloud suite of apps.

  • Free Adobe Creative Cloud Access: Seton Hall ensures all students and faculty can freely access Adobe Creative Cloud, equipping them with professional tools for digital creation and innovation.
  • Creative Skills Series: The university curates a series of tutorials aimed at enhancing creative skills, from beginner to advanced levels, with the added benefit of earning digital badges for completed sessions, showcasing your new skills.
  • Adobe Workshops: Through specialized workshops, participants can dive deeper into Adobe software, learning practical applications and creative techniques to elevate their academic and professional projects.

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)

  3. 24/7 Mental Health Crisis Support: A vital service that CAPS offers is their 24/7 mental health crisis hotline. This ensures access to immediate assistance at any time, providing a crucial safety net for those in acute distress.
  4. Guidance for Emergency Mental Health Situations: CAPS provides comprehensive support for students experiencing urgent mental health issues. This includes providing information on how to access emergency services and national crisis lines, highlighting their commitment to the well-being and safety of the student community in critical times.

Dissertation, Thesis and Final Project Review Submission Process
The University Libraries have put in place a process with the Registrar to ensure that Dissertations are deposited in acceptable, final form in both our Electronic Theses and Dissertations (ETD) Repository, and with ProQuest Dissertations & Theses Global (the international Dissertation registry) before the degree goes on the transcript or the diploma is released. The Library is also home to the Writing Center (Walsh Front Desk #316)
The purpose of the Seton Hall University Writing Center is to provide support for all students, staff, and faculty who require assistance with writing. The Writing Center’s services are open to anyone who is affiliated with the University - alumni, current students (graduate and undergraduate), faculty, administrators and staff. Did you know the South Orange campus houses an observatory?
The Department of Physics' Astronomical Observatory, located on the roof of McNulty Hall, Center, houses a 16-inch Meade LX200 ACF Advanced Coma Free Telescope equipped with a CCD Camera.

Please come to McNulty Hall and take the elevator to the level "R" (roof).

The  Observatory is generally open to the campus on Wednesdays, from 8-9 p.m., weather permitting. Click here to learn more.

Center for Securities Trading and Business Analytics, first-class, state-of-the-art trading room and analytics learning lab.
Based on strategic vision and enhanced student experience and learning, the University took its hallmark Trading Room and relaunched it as the new Center for Securities Trading and Business Analytics. The Center is located on the 5th floor of Jubilee Hall and the 2021 expansion increased the size of the space enabling for expanded real-world learning.  “The expanded Center for Securities Trading and Business Analytics, with world-wide, rapid-fire data, market-breaking news, financial tools, and business analytics, will carry students from the academic world to the business world: education for today and tomorrow,” shared Anthony Loviscek, Ph.D., chair of the Department of Finance. Did you know that Seton Hall University’s Library provides a user-friendly online platform? The university's digital collection includes a vast repository of e-books, scholarly journals and databases that span a multitude of disciplines. The library offers research guides, data services, citation assistance and virtual reference services, which provide one-on-one support to meet the needs of all our students, including those that attend online programs through virtual consultations or the Ask Us portal.
