Summer Abroad Programs offer two-to-four-week courses overseas that fulfill multiple degree requirements, regardless of major. These programs connect you in local cultures and provide a unique way to engage with course material in exciting international destinations.

Formats and Costs:
• Faculty Led: Perfect for students who love group travel. Join Seton Hall students and faculty on organized excursions. Pay summer tuition and a program fee, with a 25% discount for programs under a month and a 50% discount for month-long programs.
• Partner University
: Ideal for independent students seeking immersion at a partner institution abroad. Enjoy the same discounts: 25% off Seton Hall tuition for programs under a month (excluding Summer in Liverpool) and 50% off for month-long programs.

Summer Abroad Checklist 

  • Explore Your Options
    Your study abroad journey begins here!
     Attend an Info or Advising Session: Learn how to make your international dreams a reality
    • Meet with your Academic Advisor: Discuss how study abroad works with your degree
    • Apply for Study Abroad Scholarships: Visit the Scholarships Abroad Hub and apply early for financial support
    • Accessibility Abroad:  Request  accommodations abroad with DSS at least 6 months before your program starts
  • Apply to Your Program

    Applying is quick and easy, taking just a minute to complete! Even if you're still exploring study abroad options, apply to the programs that interest you. There's no fee or commitment to apply, and you can confirm your spot once approved.

    Application Requirements in the Study Abroad Portal: (1) Assumption of Risk, Waiver of Liability, Release of Claims and Indemnification, (2) Authorization for Access to Student Information, (3) Notice and Consent Regarding Personal Data (for programs in the EU), (4) Disability Support Services Abroad and (5) Your Passport Status

    Important: Programs are available on a first-come, first-served basis with limited spots. A minimum GPA of 2.5 is required, and students must not be on disciplinary probation level II or higher at departure. Applications may be accepted until the Confirmation Deadline.

  • Confirm Your Spot

    Congratulations on being approved! Check your email for next steps to confirm your spot. Your spot is not confirmed until you complete the following in the Study Abroad Portal:
    Sign the "Acknowledgment of Refund, Participation and Withdrawal Policy"
    Submit a $500 Non-Refundable Deposit payment thru the Study Abroad Portal

    Important: Confirmation is on a first-come, first-served basis and space is limited. Your status will be updated to "Confirmed" within 24 hours after completing the above steps. You don't need a valid passport to confirm your spot, but you must have one by the Final Balance deadline. Learn more about passports and visas.

  • Get Ready for Departure
    You're confirmed for your program! After confirmation, complete these steps to be "Ready for Departure":
    • Course Registration: You will be given special access to register for your study abroad course 
    • Pre-Departure Requirements thru the Study Abroad Portal: (1) Dietary Restrictions or Food Allergies, (2) Study Abroad Pre-Departure Quiz, (3) International Medical Insurance Coverage, (4) Voluntary Health Disclosure, (5) Passport Information, (6) Phone Number and Secondary Email While Abroad, (7) STEP Registration, (8) Study Abroad Health Information, (9) Emergency Contact Information and (10) Flight Itinerary (if applicable)
    • Final Balance: Failure to pay by the deadline will result in removal from the course and program
    • Prepare for Your Time Abroad: Visit the Preparing and Packing hub for resources and tips
