
MHA Admission Requirements
We welcome your application and questions about the admission process. The admission criteria listed below applies to all of Seton Hall's MHA degree programs and certificates:
Unless noted otherwise, references below to "MHA" are interchangeable with all Graduate Certificate requirements.
Are you a candidate for the Seton Hall MHA program?
The MHA program draws individuals from varied healthcare organizations, including hospitals, assisted-living facilities, managed care organizations, healthcare systems and pharmaceutical companies, in addition to clinical professionals and military personnel.
While mid- to senior-level professionals in healthcare and related fields comprise a large number of applicants, individuals who are highly motivated and disciplined, and who have earned a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, are welcome to apply for admission consideration.
Full-time employees of Atlantic Health System, Hackensack Meridian Health and JAG Physical Therapy are eligible for a 25% tuition discount. Please email [email protected] for more details.
Online/Hybrid Designation
The use of online/hybrid designation attests to the required three intensive in-person residencies together with online education.
Application Deadline:
- July 1 for the Fall semester
- December 1 for the Spring semester
MHA Admission Requirements:
- Completion of the Seton Hall University graduate school admission application
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college.
- Minimum 3.0 (on 4.0 scale) cumulative GPA on most recently conferred degree. However, for those applicants whose GPAs fall in the 2.8 to 2.99 range, consideration can be given to professional experience working in healthcare. Students below 2.8 are not encouraged to apply.
- Three letters of recommendation indicating that the applicant possesses the aptitude and ambition to complete a course of study for the MHA degree. Preferably, letters should be from current or previous employers and/or from last school attended.
- Statement of goals and career interests.
- Curriculum vitae or résumé.
- If English is not the native language, a student must submit a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) Score Report documenting an internet-based score of 90 or above. The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) can also be accepted documenting a score in the 6.5 band or above. Exception to this requirement may be granted if the applicant is a U.S. resident and a graduate of a U.S. college within the previous two years.
- Scores from the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) are not required for admission to the MHA program.

- Term: Year/Semester you intend to begin the program
