Faculty and Administration News (FAN)  

First issued in November 2009, Faculty & Administration News (FAN) is a quarterly publication of Immaculate Conception Seminary School of Theology. The aim of this newsletter is to share with readers the many accomplishments of ICSST's faculty and administrators.

In This Issue:

  • ICSST’s Preaching as Hospitality Formation Program, funded by $1.25 million grant from Lilly Endowment, Inc., is awarded $10,000 grant from Koch Foundation to facilitate New York Pilgrimage and Writing Retreat Weekend; continues Wisdom Figures of Preaching series, Many Faces of Hospitality series, and Annual Lenten Reflection Series.
  • Five outstanding ICSST faculty members honored at 2026 Celebration of Faculty Excellence sponsored by Seton Hall University’s Office of the Provost.
  • Carlos R. Flores, C.P.A., joins ICSST team as Graduate Admissions Coordinator.
  • Seven publications, including co-edited book by Reverend Joseph R. Laracy, S.T.D., and book translation by Reverend Monsignor C. Anthony Ziccardi, S.S.L., S.T.D.
  • More than 50 professional and pastoral presentations.
  • ICSST, with Seton Hall University’s Catholic Studies Program and Center for Catholic Studies, sponsors presentation by Cardinal Joseph W. Tobin, C.Ss.R., D.D., on “Pope Leo and the Legacy of Pope Francis.”
  • Timothy P. Fortin, Ph.D., continues service as prison minister, offering Bible studies and outreach to county, federal, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainees, and as coordinator of prison ministry religious services for the Archdiocese of Newark.
  • Reverend Douglas J. Milewski, S.T.D., for various Seton Hall University groups, leads tours of the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart; serves on Strategic Plan Implementation Committee for Catholic Mission and Culture; continues service as faculty advisor for Heart of the Hall student publication.
  • Reverend Monsignor C. Anthony Ziccardi, S.S.L., S.T.D., teaches and leads Seton Hall’s University Seminar on Mission for six weeks in the Fall semester and six weeks in the Spring semester.
  • ICSST continues partnership with Immaculate Conception Church, Montclair, as Reverend Christopher M. Ciccarino, K.C.H.S., S.S.L., S.T.D., presents lecture series on The Eucharist.
  • Reverend Mariusz Eugene R. Koch, C.F.R., M.Div., M.A., facilitates post-abortion evening of healing at northern NJ parish.
  • Reverend Monsignor Gerard H. McCarren, S.T.D., as Censor Librorum for the Archdiocese of Newark, reviews 2027 Paulist Press Ordo, to be distributed to most US dioceses for use in church sacristies.
  • Reverend Joseph R. Laracy, S.T.D., delivers presentations on Artificial Intelligence and Human Dignity, both at Seton Hall and in England.
  • Víctor Velarde-Mayol, M.D., Ph.D., delivers presentations on Einstein and Aquinas, at seminars sponsored by the Max Planck Institute in Berlin, Germany.
